(Very) Basic Template(s)

For the next step you will receive two (very) basic templates to start your website from there:

First is so basic that you have to write all the HTML by yourself. Thats good because the structure is simple and you will know what you are doing and bad because it is a lot of work and if you chance anything you will have more work.

Second uses a JSON-file to store the data (a bit like the CSV-file in InDesign) and a Java Script-file to fetch the data from the JSON and write some HTML automatically (using a loop). That’s good because it is less work and you only have to update the JSON and bad because it works only if you have a local server running.
Fortunately that’s not a problem just follow these steps:

1. download and install Python
2. open the template folder in the terminal (drag the folder to the terminal-icon)
3. type in python -m http.server 8001 or python3 -m http.server 8001 to start the server
4. enjoy your server — change the CSS or JS or JSON or HTML
5. to end the server close the terminal or press CTRL + C
